runcorn nursery
Our children say......................

Dunkys Day Nursery Runcorn is located within the Weston Point area of Runcorn.  The building is very spacious indoors with an extensive garden area.  The Nursery has the highest standards of security including state of the art Biometric fingerprint door access and CCTV cameras within all rooms.  The nursery is arranged over 2 floors and caters for children from 0 to 5 years.  We also have the facilities for breakfast club, after school and holiday club for children 5 - 13 years, with the flexibility of term time only and shift rota contracts available for all age groups.
On the lower floor we have a large baby unit which has access to 2 spacious rooms, a large Pre-School room along with “Our Den” which is a room where the children can relax and enjoy quiet time.  Our rooms are very comfortable and equipped with lots of soft furnishings where the children can relax and spend quality time making new friends and learning new skills in the stimulating and educational environment.
Our garden area has a soft play area along with our very own nature trail and gardening area where we grow all our own fruit and vegetables.  The garden area also has a sheltered gazebo therefore allowing the children to enjoy the outdoor environment whatever the weather.  We offer the children the same opportunities outdoors as well as indoors to ensure that they have the best possible start in our indoor/outdoor classrooms.  The children can express themselves freely and be in charge of their own learning whilst being supported by familiar adults who provide opportunities and help.
On the upper floor we have 3 large rooms which accommodate the Toddlers and the Out of school children; these are also very spacious with lots of educational resources and up to date equipment.
We encourage the children’s independence and they are involved in making decisions about their rooms and equipment.
Our curriculum is based on each individual child and their stage of development as well as their current interests.  We offer a wide range of opportunities such as creative & messy play, sensory play, baking, knowledge and understanding of the world, imaginative play and role play, problem solving reasoning and numeracy, information & communication technology and much more

All our rooms offer quiet area’s where your child can just relax, read a book, listen to music or just to have a sit and chat with their friends.
All our staff are very dedicated and highly experienced practitioners who all hold current childcare qualifications level 3 – including first aid, basic food hygiene, safeguarding and much more.
We pride ourselves on our friendly but professional approach and foster excellent relationships with the parents and children in our care. We operate a key person procedure which enables staff, children and their parents to form strong relationships with one another.
Whilst your child is in our care we intend to provide them with the best care and education at all times in a home from home environment and they will certainly have fun!

meal times

Menu (PDF) / Menu for Babies(PDF)

Often overlooked nutrition is an essential aspect of a child’s development.  We have a full time chef at the nursery that prepares and cooks all of the meals, fresh produce is used everyday and purchased locally.  We provide morning and afternoon snacks which are low in sugar and high in nutrition.  All our snacks are sugar free and fresh fruit and vegetables are always available and included on a daily basis.
Menus are displayed in the entrance for parents to view.  We take mealtimes very seriously here at Dunky’s so we have taken measures to ensure that our menus are balanced and nutritious.
If your child has a medical or dietary need then we will be happy to cater for this.  Our staff are encouraged to sit and eat with the children to promote healthy eating and act as a good role model and to encourage children’s social skills.
In addition to our normal six week menu which incorporates foods from other cultures, there will be themed days linked to international holidays and celebrations to encourage diversity of the palate and offer some educational possibilities. The staff hold basic cookery classes with the children in addition to outside agencies coming in.
